About JSVU

The JSVU is the ‘Juridische Studenten Vereniging te Utrecht’, in English: the Utrecht Law Society. The JSVU is the biggest and the general society for all (inter)national law students in Utrecht. The JSVU has been founded on the 2nd of February 1986 and since then it has been subject to several developments. Nowadays, we can be proud of a strong and professional society with about 3500 members. Beside to the JSVU there are some smaller societies in Utrecht, specialized in a certain field of law. The Turing Society is specialized in intellectual property right. The Corporate Law Society is specialized in company law.

The societies have one goal: looking after the interests of the Utrecht law students. We try to reach this goal by offering a great diversity of activities, organized by students, for students. Every day there is a seven-headed board present in our building at the Domplein 24. Around 20 committees who organize all the activities on a voluntary basis support the board. What we have to offer: books with discount, career days, visits to law firms and other judicial organizations, congresses and symposia, drinks and parties.

Everyone is welcome to our activities, parties and events. The JSVU considers diversity as very important.

In short: a lot to offer! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to walk in, to send an e-mail to bestuur@jsvu.nl or to call us: +31 30 2400811.
